Endurance Cyclist Eric Hurnyak to Embark on 360-Mile Ride to Raise Funds for Glioblastoma Research
Sound Beach, New York, 05.14.2024 – Eric Hurnyak, an endurance cyclist and advocate for glioblastoma research, is gearing up to undertake the Babs 360 Ride, a 360-mile cycling journey along the Erie Canalway Trail from Buffalo to Albany. The ride, scheduled from July 15th to July 21st, is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for The Glioblastoma Research Organization.
The Babs 360 Ride is inspired by Eric’s mother, Barbara “Babs” Johnson, who has been battling grade 4 glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, since just after her 71st birthday. Despite the challenges she faces, Babs has shown remarkable resilience and positivity, inspiring Eric and countless others.
“This ride is a tribute to my mother’s strength and courage in the face of glioblastoma,” says Eric Hurnyak. “I want to do everything I can to raise funds for research and support other families affected by this devastating disease.”
Glioblastoma is one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer, with a low survival rate and limited treatment options. The Glioblastoma Research Organization is dedicated to funding research initiatives aimed at finding better treatments and ultimately a cure for glioblastoma.
“The Babs 360 Ride is not just about covering 360 miles on a bike; it’s about spreading hope and raising awareness for glioblastoma research,” adds Hurnyak.
The journey will begin on July 15th, starting in Buffalo, and will conclude on July 21st in Albany. Along the way, Eric will document his ride and share updates on his progress through social media channels.
Supporters can join Eric in his mission by making a donation through his fundraising page. Every contribution will directly support glioblastoma research and help make a difference in the lives of patients and families affected by this disease.
